In 2010 my love life was activated and energized. Meeting, and eventually falling in love with a thoughtful sexy man. My body was healthy, energized with bootcamp, the general stepping up of my fittness regime and losing a couple of kilos in the process. My social life was busy as always. Yet the activation or energization for anything remotely linked to university or my units of study had become non-existant. Motivation Level. Zero.
The course seemed irrelevant to what I want to do. It lacked creativity and I felt uninspired. And I often can't help but think, is this what I want to be doing? I have no doubt my crappy timetable contributed to these feelings as I missed lectures and left classes early. I have no doubt that my lack of solid uni friends didn't help the situation or the way I was feeling. Receiving grades back - not bad but not fantastic either, increased my disdain for university life and feelings of guilt would often slap me in the face.
Over the break I decided I need to get my act into gear. This is my final year at university and I want to make the most of it. I can not wait to get into the 'real' world in 12 months time, but for now I want to get through these last 9 units with a smile on my face. A smile for knowing that I have worked hard. No more negative talk.
But to do this I need to make some changes. I have a great timetable this semester. With 2 days a week free. I have joined the PRSC (Public Relations Student Chapter) and have been elected as part of the General Committee.
I am going to register for a Blogging course. One of my favourite blogs Decor8 has just begun registration for an e-course run by American freelance writer, pro blogger and interior design consultant Holly Becker. I love how blogs can express the personality of its author and I particulary love Holly's blogging style. Her posts and writing style are fluid and the blog is an eye catching portfolio of gorgeousness. I want a bit of that in my book of knowledge please! I think blogging will give me a medium to delve into my love of lifestyle, decor and design
New Media is a huge topic of interest at the moment in the PR and Marketing World. I am hoping this will supplement my degree - if not, I know I will get personal enjoyment from improving my skill set and creating/designing something that is mine.

This luxuriously lengthy break has left me feeling energized, refreshed and ultimately motivated. So with a set of beautiful new notepads by myside, and a 5.30pm PRSC meeting this afternoon I am set to be excited, challenged and rewarded with a good year ahead.
Bring it on!
